Trying a cigarette is usually the turning point of whether or not a person chooses to start smoking. Family and friends provide a lot of influences as well. It is also possible that your friend or partner smokes, or you get exposed to smoke during a night out. In groups, it is usually cool to smoke cigarettes. Cigarettes will be offered a lot and it is difficult to say no because you may feel left out of the group. These are times where it is cool to say no and convince your friends to not smoke.
